'Out of the Ashes' engages with ideas around time and mortality. I am attempting to capture those fleeting moments when the ego-self vanishes and there is a pause between suffering and action, between growth and decay. One is a part of the boundlessness of the natural world. There is a stillness, a haunting tranquillity and a visceral response to the power of nature.
